He is B.Com. LL. B, F. C. A. and is proprietor of
N. M. Lam & Associates, Chartered Accountants, Mumbai. He is a member
of (a) All India Federation of Tax Practitioners, (b) The Chamber of
Income Tax Consultants, (c) Bombay Management Association, (d) Bombay
Chartered Accountants Society and (e) International Fiscal
Association. He has experience of over 45 years. As Financial
Controller & Company Secretary of Quest International (Unilever Group)
for 25 years. He was for 10 years with Colgate Palmolive Ltd. and for
5 years with M/s. A. F. Ferguson & Co, Chartered Accountants.
He is known for his inimitable style of writing and
is an author of several articles on economic scenario, taxation and
other matters published in the Economic Times, Tax Analysts-Tax
Notes International, Taxation, Taxmann, The Chartered Accountant, The
Current Tax Reporter, Fortune India and Premium Investments. He is
the author of “Comprehensive Handbook for NRI’s Investments, Taxation
& FEMA.” whose sixth edition is published in 2003 in just four years.
He is the joint author of “Mauritius International Business and Tax
Strategies” published in April 2002.
In his professional capacity and for gaining wider
experience, he has travelled extensively to Mauritius, South Africa,
Europe, U.S.A., Japan, Far East, Philippines, and Indonesia.
Mr. Mayur Nayak
Mr. Mayur B. Nayak, B.Com, F.C.A., is a practising
chartered Accountant for past 15 years, specialising in International
Taxation (DTAA, and Transfer Pricing) and Foreign Exchange Management
Act (FEMA).
Passed B.Com. in First Class, from Mumbai
University he is a rank holder in the C.A. final examination. He is
the Certified Business Consultant as per the Business consultancy
Studies Course conducted by the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management
Studies (JBIMS) jointly with the Bombay Chartered Accountant's Society
(BCAS).
He has co-authored a book titled
"Mauritius-International Business and Tax Strategies" which was
released by the Hon. Minister of Economic Development Finance Services
and corporate Affairs, Mr. Sushilkumar Khusiram at the Mauritius in
April 2002.
He is the co-author of publication entitled "Tax
and Treaty Guide" (Four Editions so Far) on Double Tax Avoidance
Agreements and Advance Rulings by the BCAS.
He is the recipient of the Best Feature Award in
the year 1999-2000 for the "International Taxation" column in the BCA
Journal. He is the co-author of this column which is a regular feature
of the BCA journal for over five years now.
He has a wide experience in advising domestic as
well as multinational companies and banks in the areas of cross border
business, investments and financial analysis.
Member of the Managing Committee of the BCAS.
Convenor of the Taxation Committee of the BCAS and
member of the Journal and International Taxation Committees, of the
BCAS.
Chairman of the International Tax & Finance Group-I
of Bombay Chartered Accountant's Society during 1997 and 1998. He is
the president of the MILT Alumni Association, Mumbai chapter (An
organisation of Success minded entusiastic individuals). He is the
visiting faculty at the Foreign Exchange Training Centre of the
Oriented Bank of Commerce and the Bank of Baroda.
